- Continue working on Excel budget workbooks. If you have completed yours, begin a new one including expenses for a two-year-old child. Add columns for child health insurance, child medical expenses, child care, diapers, and child gifts. Use the same income of $1875 per month. Health insurance for your child will not be covered by your job, and you can estimate about $250 per month for this expense.
